Candidate CV

DevOps Engineer Summary

DevOps Engineer and IT Automation Engineer, experienced with latest Open Source technologies for automation that include Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, and Monitoring/Scanning Open Source tools, all of which are implemented on Azure, and AWS environments, always taking into consideration to have secure deployments with continuous versioning of changes in infrastructure and Operating System state (such as Ansible).

Adept at understanding and enhancing cloud infrastructure for extensible environments and working with multi-tenancy applications.

DevOps Engineer

OCT 2021 – PRESENT

Responsibilities:

Currently providing consulting services for cloud solutions to Digital on Us as a Senior DevOps Engineer, implementing roadmaps for automation using multiple orchestrating technologies such as Rancher, Kubernetes, and Auto Scaling cloud systems, as well as implementing technologies that allow for automation and reliable solutions where, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Jenkins, and Bash are the basis for the provisioning and implementing of container orchestrating platforms.

Actively involved in the security design as I have worked with multiple industry compliances such as CIS and PCI as part of the company requirements to provide a service that can be secure, and iterated upon in an automated way.

DevOps Engineer

SEP 2019 – OCT 2021

Responsibilities:

Provided consulting services for Globant as a DevOps engineer providing new ideas (and implementing them) to improve automation, scalability, and security in the cloud for Cloud-Native Deployments mostly in Kubernetes but also with extended knowledge in Swarm clusters.

Look and fix security breaches in the cloud network for both AWS and Azure, as well as managing the configuration of the infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible (IaC).

Setup and maintenance of Jenkins (JCasC), Kubernetes clusters (eksctl), monitoring (Grafana-Prometheus), Spinnaker (Helm), all documented and automated for scalability and management of multiple environments, as well as housekeeping.

Creation, management, and improvement of Jenkinsfiles to improve automation pipelines, in which a lot of interaction with different teams is required to understand the necessity of the requirement and provide ideas for solutions to the current issue.

In-depth cloud management on Azure and AWS involving refactoring of the infrastructure to make it more secure and highly available as well as improving continuous improvement of the procedures to deploy new services.

DevOps Engineer

OCT 2021 – PRESENT

Responsibilities:

Worked on LinioPay’s project which is a branch of Linio on setting up from scratch the architecture and infrastructure on AWS for Kubernetes with KOPs, integrating CI/CD with Jenkins on K8s, and setting up security using Terraform and Ansible for Hardening on the cluster as we manage a PCI compliance architecture for LinioPay’s transactional platform.

Set up a monitoring and logging architecture which includes Grafana, Prometheus, and Fluentd, which has been automated for its deployment.

Later, I planned and worked on the migration from AWS cloud to GCP of Kubernetes services to GKE where we started from zero to be able to manage canary deployments and deployment versioning.

LinioPay project was delegated to me since I showed initiative and determination to provide growth to the company and personal growth, I was initially supporting only Linio project but that was not enough, there my main tasks were to set up Ansible playbooks, migration to Infrastructure as code with Terraform and CI/CD integration pipeline migration from Travis to Jenkins, as well as troubleshooting and administration of the platform, databases, RabbitMQ nodes, and GCP resources.

Business Systems II

FEB 2016 – FEB 2018

Responsibilities:

Worked with highly scalable, multi-tenancy tools for business automation, maintaining and enhancing the platform as well as developing complex workflows that engage multiple technologies.

Assisted in the set up of HIRO by Arago in a clustered environment using Amazon Web Services as the IaaS provider. Currently performing HIRO administration at an application-development level, creating workflows for automation on a per-use case basis for remediation and system provisioning as well as working on the stability of the platform.

This includes the usage of multi-platform, scalable open-source and private-owned tools such as zookeeper, Kafka, Ansible, Mule ESB, code commit, DataStax (graph DB), git, rabbit MQ, Java technologies, as well as cloud solutions from Amazon Web Services such as ALBs, Auto Scaling Groups, EC2, VPCs, ACLs, Security Groups, Route 53, SQS, SNS, AWS RDS (including knowledge of the infrastructure, troubleshooting, and RCA determination). Our workflows are BPMN based, where we have to plan and work in collaboration with other teams from other countries (India, US, Germany, Mexico) to deploy to production in short phases (we also use JIRA!).
