I have spent 25+ years successfully building, architecting, and maintaining IT infrastructures and development platforms domestically and internationally. I specialize in cloud architectures using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, and Google Cloud. Within my executive leadership experience, building scalable, stable, reliable, redundant, and profitable network infrastructures and platforms are key to business success and growth. I also specialize in building and maintaining security and compliance controls. I’ve earned HITRUST and SOC2 Type2 certifications along with GDPR compliance in the EMEA region. I have spent most of my career in healthcare but have technology specialties in (but not limited to): environmental engineering, graphic design and web site development, and technology advisory and consulting. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics and Data Mining has become key in every network and I have experience in all aspects of big data.

Case Studies

Digital Transformation Initiatives

Problem: The company was operating with outdated legacy systems that limited its ability to adapt to market changes and meet customer expectations.

Solution: Architected and implemented new automated processes across the entire company that allowed for efficiency and improved time management. This allowed the company to move from manual paper processing to electronic data processing with automation increasing efficiency by 85%. Digital Transformation allowed the company to be current within today's technology stack.

Cybersecurity Enhancement

Problem: As the company moved their full infrastructure to the cloud, maintaining an enhanced security posture was key. Customers needed to see that the company had a secure infrastructure that stored their data. Therefore the company needed to go through many HIPAA security assessments and certifications.

Solution: Led the company through several SOC2 Type2 security certifications improving the company's security posture by 95%. Setup the infrastructure to allow for many customer security risk assessments and audits. Also maintained a secure cloud architecture that gained high scores on annual penetration testing and cybersecurity testing. Performed regular email phishing simulations to test the knowledge of the staff for vulnerability attempts.

Software Migration / Rewrite

Problem: Legacy software was not compatible with modern operating environments, leading to increased security vulnerabilities and maintenance costs.

Solution: Led a project to rewrite and migrate legacy applications to modern, secure frameworks, reducing operational risks and maintenance costs by 80%. Old proprietary platform was written as a monolith application and could no longer be supported. Led the team on designing, architecting and implementing a new platform written in current cloud serverless technologies. Also designed and implemented new solutions to allow the company to increase their value proposition and grow into new markets. Some new platforms have not been done before in healthcare and this put the company as the leader within this area of healthcare.

Business Intelligence and Analytics

Problem: Decision-making was slow and often inaccurate due to reliance on disjointed data sources and manual analysis.

Solution: Implemented a centralized business intelligence and analytics platform utilizing Microsoft’s PowerBI and Synopse data warehousing, enabling real-time data access and insights, which improved decision-making speed and accuracy by 95%. Moving to a cloud-based structured database architecture increased the company’s reporting posture by 95%. Generating reports for customers and the board of directors became a regular automated routine.

Healthcare IT Innovations

Problem: The company needed to grow into new markets but their technology and processes hindered their scalability.

Solution: Developed and executed on new healthcare initiatives that allowed the company to grow into new markets. Responsible for the overall Senior Executive IT Leadership, management and technical aspects of Solera’ s business and technology infrastructure since Solera started in 2015. My role also included meeting with all health plans and providers to educate them that doing business in the cloud within the healthcare landscape is safe and secure. My main objective was to ensure that their data was safe and secure utilizing current technology. Worked with every department team to ensure the technology operations were meeting their requirements. Specialized in building and managing large technology infrastructures with innovative technology processes

 

GlobalMed

Executive Director of Technology, 2014 to 2015

Responsible for the overall Senior Executive IT Leadership direction, management and technical mentoring of GlobalMed’s business and IT infrastructure. Assisted GlobalMed in restructuring the business that helped take customers current technology to the next level in telemedicine healthcare technology solutions. Lead the team of IT Engineers and IT Support Technicians along with product development staff in providing the “best of class” IT service desk and engineering services
